1. What this site is

Bin & Basket publishes editorial content about closet and pantry storage: compiled manufacturer specifications, fit arithmetic, and product recommendations. It is information, not professional advice, and it is not a substitute for a building professional, an electrician, or the installation instructions supplied with a product.

2. Specifications and figures

Every dimension, span, spacing and load figure on this site is compiled from a manufacturer's published documentation and attributed to it. We do not warrant those third-party figures. Manufacturers revise specifications, discontinue product lines, and occasionally publish errors, and we have no control over any of that.

Always follow the installation instructions supplied with your product. Where those instructions and this site differ, the supplied instructions govern. We take reasonable care to compile figures accurately and we correct errors promptly when they are reported — see editorial policy — but the responsibility for a safe installation is yours and the manufacturer's, not ours.

3. We have not tested these products

This is stated throughout the site and it is a term as well as an editorial position. We do not test, own, assemble or handle the products we write about. Our recommendations are judgments about published specifications and fit arithmetic, not test results, and should be read as such. The method is set out on how we pick.

4. Installation, load and safety

Storage systems fixed to a wall carry weight above people. Load ratings published by manufacturers are conditional on the fixings specified in their instructions, typically screws into structural studs, and those conditions are not optional.

You are responsible for verifying that your wall construction, fixings and installation are appropriate for the load you intend to place on them, and for engaging a qualified professional where you are unsure. We accept no liability for injury, damage or loss arising from an installation.

5. Prices and availability

Prices shown on this site come from the retailer's live data at the time of display and are indicative only. The price at the retailer at the moment of purchase is the price that applies. We do not sell anything, we do not process payments, and we have no control over pricing, stock, shipping or returns.

The text, tables, arithmetic and page structure on this site are ours. You may quote a reasonable extract with attribution and a link. You may not republish substantial portions, and you may not reproduce our compiled specification tables wholesale — compiling them is the work.

Product names, brand names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and appear here descriptively. Photography is licensed stock unless stated otherwise.

This site is provided "as is". We make no warranty that the content is complete, current or error-free, and we do not warrant uninterrupted availability. We correct errors when we find them or when they are reported.
