The half-and-half layout that suits most people
Committing a whole reach-in to double hang is usually wrong, because it leaves nowhere for a dress or a coat. The arrangement that works for most wardrobes is to split the width: double hang across roughly two thirds, and a single full-height section across the remaining third for long garments.
